Worlds Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

These chocolate chip cookies use more brown sugar than white sugar and the result is amazing.

Equipment

  • 1 Kitchenaid mixer
  • 1 cookie sheet
  • 1 food scale

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 c flour
  • 3/4 t baking soda
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/2 c butter at room temperature
  • 2 T granulated sugar
  • 1 c brown sugar firmly packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 10 oz chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c chopped nuts
  • Sea Salt or course salt for topping optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°.

Stir together:

  • Stir together flour, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl and set aside.

Combine with electric mixer:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar and eggs. Beat on high speed until light and fluffy. About 2 minutes.
  • Continue mixing on low and gradually add flour mixture about 1/3 cup at a time. Mix until all flour is incorporated. Add vanilla, chocolate chips and nuts.

Bake:

  • Gently shape dough into ball (about the size of a golf ball). Place on parchment paper line cookie sheet, Flatten ball slightly with your fingers. Sprinkle sea salt generously on cookie (optional but recommended). Bake for 12 - 13 minutes.
